In a significant development for Granada CF, midfielder Bryan Zaragoza has opted to stay with the club despite an opportunity to join RB Leipzig in January. The German club was ready to activate his €14m release clause, but Zaragoza chose to commit to Granada’s fight against relegation.
FC Bayern Munich has agreed to pay €15m for Zaragoza, which is €1m more than RB Leipzig’s offer. However, they have consented to let the player remain at Granada until June. This arrangement aligns with the wishes of both Zaragoza and Granada’s director, Tognozzi, who are keen on ensuring the player’s contribution to the team’s efforts to stay in the top flight.
