Lazio president Claudio Lotito has expressed his satisfaction with the club’s recent acquisitions, Nuno Tavares and Samuel Gigot. Speaking to Messaggero, Lotito highlighted the quality of the new players, stating, “Did you see how good he is? Nuno is an excellent player.”

Nuno Tavares, a 24-year-old left-back, joined Lazio from Arsenal earlier this summer. The Portuguese defender, known for his pace and attacking prowess, signed a five-year deal with the Italian club. Tavares had previously played for Benfica before moving to Arsenal in 2021.

Samuel Gigot

Lotito also mentioned Samuel Gigot, who recently transferred from Olympique Marseille. “Now you’ll see how good is Gigot, it was another great move,” he told Messaggero. The 30-year-old French centre-back is expected to bolster Lazio’s defensive line. Gigot’s move to Lazio was confirmed on 29 August, following an agreement between the two clubs.

Recent Transfers

Lazio has been active in the transfer market, securing key players to strengthen their squad. The club confirmed the agreement with Arsenal for Tavares on 10 July, and the player officially joined on 13 July. Gigot’s transfer was finalised in late August, with the deal being agreed on 27 August and confirmed two days later.

These signings reflect Lazio’s strategic efforts to enhance their team dynamics and performance for the upcoming season.
