Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has disclosed that Dominic Solanke was his primary target during the summer transfer window. Despite considering other options, including Ivan Toney, Postecoglou was adamant about securing Solanke for the squad.
Summer Transfer Efforts
Postecoglou stated, “We did look at Ivan Toney but I have said Dom Solanke was the one I wanted at Spurs.” He further explained that the acquisition process was lengthy, taking almost the entire summer to finalise. “It took pretty much the whole summer to get him in because he was the one who fitted the profile of what we were looking for at the time,” he added.
Background on Solanke
Dominic Solanke, a 27-year-old striker, joined Tottenham Hotspur from Bournemouth. Known for his physical presence and ability to link up play, Solanke has previously played for clubs such as Liverpool and Chelsea.
