Borussia Dortmund’s director, Sebastian Kehl, has clarified the terms of the loan agreements for Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen. According to Kehl, neither of the deals with Manchester United and Chelsea includes an option for Borussia Dortmund to purchase the players at the end of their loan periods.

Loan Terms for Sancho and Maatsen

The loan arrangements for both Sancho from Manchester United, known as #MUFC, and Maatsen from Chelsea, referred to as #CFC, are set to expire in June. However, it has been disclosed that while there is no buy option for either player, Maatsen’s deal does include a release clause. The specifics of this clause have not been elaborated upon.

Impact on Borussia Dortmund

The absence of a buy option means that Dortmund will not have the opportunity to secure the players’ services permanently through the current loan agreements. Once the loan period concludes, the players are expected to return to their respective Premier League clubs unless further negotiations take place.

Borussia Dortmund will continue to utilize the talents of Sancho and Maatsen for the remainder of the season, with the understanding that their future beyond that point remains uncertain without the option to buy.
