Chelsea’s Current Form Not Comparable to Last Season
Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea Football Club, has made it clear that the team’s performance in the previous season should not be compared to the current campaign. Pochettino emphasized that the squad has undergone significant changes since finishing 12th in the league last year.
“I didn’t finish 12th last year, Chelsea did. It is a different squad to last year, many changes,” Pochettino stated, distancing himself from the team’s past results and highlighting the transformation that has taken place within the squad.
The Chelsea boss further expressed his view on comparisons being drawn to undermine the team’s current efforts. “If you want to compare to damage us, to compare things I think is impossible,” he said, suggesting that such comparisons are not only unhelpful but also not feasible given the changes in the team’s lineup and dynamics.
Pochettino’s focus remains on guiding the revamped Chelsea side through the ongoing season, steering clear of the shadows cast by the previous year’s performance.
