Bayern Munich are reportedly in advanced discussions to renew the contract of their central defender, Dayot Upamecano. The 26-year-old French international, who has been a key figure in Bayern’s defensive line, is currently under contract with the club. Upamecano, known for his robust defensive skills and ability to play out from the back, has previously played for RB Leipzig before joining Bayern Munich.

In a recent statement, Upamecano mentioned that his agent is managing the contract negotiations with the club. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of the talks, stating, “the talks are good,” but emphasised that his primary focus remains on his performance on the pitch. Upamecano’s commitment to Bayern Munich was previously confirmed in April 2024, when he stated his dedication to the club until 2026, despite circulating exit rumours. The current negotiations aim to further extend his stay at the Bundesliga giants, ensuring his continued presence in their defensive setup.
