Thomas Tuchel has openly discussed the circumstances surrounding his impending departure from Bayern Munich. In a recent interview with SkyDE, Tuchel revealed that the club had been actively searching for a new coach even before they had officially decided to part ways with him. This revelation comes amidst a series of confirmations regarding his exit from the club at the end of the season.
“Since we agreed to part ways, Bayern has been looking intensively for a new coach. I’m guessing probably even before our conversation,” Tuchel told SkyDE. He expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, indicating that it demotivated him from continuing his role at the club. “That’s bad motivation to then say: ah, let’s do it again with you. Nah. From my point of view, that’s clear,” he added.
This statement aligns with previous news confirming Tuchel’s departure. On multiple occasions throughout April and early May, both Tuchel and Bayern Munich’s director have publicly acknowledged the end of his tenure with the club. These announcements have set the stage for Bayern Munich’s search for new managerial leadership as they prepare for the upcoming football season.
