History

Borussia Dortmund is a German football club based in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club was founded on 19th December 1909 by a group of young men dissatisfied with the church football team, Trinity Youth. Since then, Borussia Dortmund has grown to become one of the most prominent clubs in German football.

Home Stadium

Borussia Dortmund’s home ground is Signal Iduna Park, formerly known as Westfalenstadion. The stadium was inaugurated in 1974 and is the largest stadium in Germany with a capacity of over 81,000 spectators. Signal Iduna Park is known for “The Yellow Wall”, a standing section with room for 25,000 supporters, which is the largest of its kind in Europe.

Legendary Coaches and Players

Borussia Dortmund has had several prominent coaches and players over the years. One of the most notable coaches is Ottmar Hitzfeld, who led the club to its first UEFA Champions League title in 1997.
