Conor Gallagher has refuted suggestions that he does not align with Enzo Maresca’s tactical approach. The 24-year-old midfielder, who had a strong season under Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, expressed his views in an interview with the Daily Mail.
Gallagher stated, “I had a good season as you could see by Pochettino playing me every game and showing his trust in me.” He also highlighted the support he received from the fans, saying, “The fans appreciated what I did on the pitch too.”
Gallagher’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about his role and future at Chelsea. Pochettino, who has been vocal about his plans and vision for the club, has previously emphasised his commitment and trust in his players, as seen in several statements made in May 2024.
The midfielder’s performance last season under Pochettino’s management has been a point of reference, with the manager consistently including him in the starting lineup. Gallagher’s style of play, characterised by his high work rate and versatility, has been well-received by both the coaching staff and supporters.
As the new season progresses, Gallagher’s role within the team and his fit within Maresca’s system will continue to be a topic of interest for Chelsea fans and analysts alike.
