Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has expressed his satisfaction with the recent addition of Jadon Sancho to the squad. Maresca highlighted Sancho’s ability to excel in one-on-one situations, particularly against teams employing a low defensive block.
Sancho, a 24-year-old winger, joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United, with an obligation to buy for £25 million. The move was confirmed on 31 August 2024, and Sancho has since voiced his excitement about the transfer.
Maresca stated, “I’m very happy to have Sancho at Chelsea, he’s here because we like that kind of player who can help in 1vs1. He’s key – especially against a low block, we need him.”
Sancho’s arrival at Chelsea follows a series of bids from the club, culminating in the successful loan agreement. The winger is expected to bring creativity and dynamism to Chelsea’s attacking options, addressing the team’s need for players who can break down stubborn defences.
