Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has clarified the club’s stance on their striker situation, stating that he has not discussed the potential arrival of a new forward with current striker Nico Jackson.
In a recent statement, Maresca emphasised, “I didn’t speak to Nico Jackson about this. I had a meeting with Nicolas yesterday but just about the amount of good things he is doing with us.” He further added, “He is our nine, our striker in this moment. We are very happy with him. That’s it.”
This comes amidst ongoing speculation about Chelsea’s pursuit of additional attacking options. Despite these rumours, Maresca’s comments suggest a strong vote of confidence in Jackson, who has been confirmed as the primary striker for the team on multiple occasions.
