Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has hinted at a potential future move to Olympique Marseille, despite being under contract with the London club until 2029. The 23-year-old centre-back, who has been vocal about his support for Marseille, stated, “Marseille is my city, my club, I am an OM supporter.”
Fofana, who joined Chelsea from Leicester City, expressed his uncertainty about his long-term future, saying, “We’ll see if I end up being at Marseille in a few years, or if I stay at Chelsea for the rest of my career.”
The French defender has had a challenging time at Chelsea, with injuries impacting his playing time. Earlier this year, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Fofana was likely out for the season due to injury.
Fofana’s comments come after he recently expressed his determination to prove his worth at Chelsea, following his recovery. His potential move to Marseille remains speculative, but his strong connection to the club and city keeps the possibility open.
