Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has provided an update on the fitness of two of his players. Midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is nearing a return to full team training, with Klopp suggesting that the player could participate in the day’s session. “He could join team training today, let’s see. Getting closer for sure,” Klopp remarked, indicating that Mac Allister’s integration back into the squad is imminent.
Robertson’s Recovery Progress
In contrast, Scottish defender Andrew Robertson is still some distance away from rejoining the team activities. Klopp confirmed that Robertson had undergone a significant surgical procedure and is currently in the rehabilitation phase. “Robertson had quite a big surgery so not even close to team training,” Klopp stated. However, there is optimism regarding his recovery timeline, with the Liverpool boss expressing confidence that Robertson will be fit to return in January. “He is good, for sure for January he will back,” Klopp assured.
Alexis Mac Allister is working his way back to fitness and could soon be back in full training with the Liverpool squad, while Andrew Robertson is expected to make his return to the pitch in January following his recovery from surgery.
