Liverpool Football Club has unveiled a significant restructuring of its management team as it prepares for a new era. The club, owned by Fenway Sports Group (FSG), has appointed Michael Edwards as the new Chief Executive Officer. Edwards, who has previously served in various capacities within the club, will now lead the organisation at the executive level.
New Appointments and Roles
Alongside Edwards, Liverpool has announced several other key appointments:
- Richard Hughes has been named the new Sporting Director. Hughes will be responsible for overseeing the club’s player recruitment and squad strategy.
- Julian Ward will take on the role of Technical Director, focusing on the technical aspects of club operations.
- Pedro Marques has been appointed as Director of Football Development, a role that will focus on nurturing young talent and developing the club’s footballing philosophy across all levels.
New Head Coach
In addition to the restructuring of the management team, Liverpool has also confirmed the signing of Arne Slot as the new head coach. All necessary documents have been signed, securing Slot’s position at the helm of the team. Slot is expected to bring a fresh tactical approach to the club as they aim to compete at the highest levels in domestic and European football.
