Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his confidence in Mason Mount’s potential impact on the team, despite the midfielder’s injury setbacks last season. Speaking to The Athletic, Ten Hag stated, “You can’t judge his season, because he was injured. Don’t judge him.”
Ten Hag emphasised Mount’s versatility and the significant contribution he expects from the 25-year-old once he regains full fitness. “But when he is fit he will be a very good player for us and we can use him, versatile… he will help us a lot,” Ten Hag added.
Mount, who joined Manchester United from Chelsea, has faced challenges with injuries but is seen as a key player for the upcoming season. His ability to play in multiple midfield roles is highly valued by Ten Hag, who is currently focused on strengthening the squad, as indicated by recent statements about seeking reinforcements and squad depth.
The manager’s comments come amid ongoing efforts to bolster the team’s defence and overall squad depth, as highlighted in recent news about Manchester United’s search for a new centre-back and Ten Hag’s confidence in players like Marcus Rashford.
