Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that forward Richarlison is still a considerable distance from rejoining the first team. Speaking via @AlasdairGold, Postecoglou stated, “Richarlison is a fair way off. He’s not close to returning yet.”
The Brazilian forward, who has been sidelined due to injury, will not be available for selection in the near future. Postecoglou advised, “You’re better off not asking about him until I give an update because he’s not with the first team.”
This update follows a series of recent injury concerns for Tottenham, including a significant injury to young forward Wilson Odobert, as reported on 19 September 2024. Additionally, Postecoglou has been actively defending his players, such as Brennan Johnson, against online abuse and reflecting on the team’s performance and missed opportunities in recent matches.
Richarlison, known for his versatility and aggressive style of play, has previously played for clubs including Watford and Everton before joining Tottenham. His absence continues to be a challenge for the squad as they navigate the current season under Postecoglou’s management.
