Inter Milan’s right-back Denzel Dumfries has confirmed his intention to remain with the club beyond his current contract, which is set to expire in June 2025. Inter’s director, Piero Ausilio, shared this information in a recent discussion, highlighting the player’s satisfaction with his situation at the club.
“Denzel has told me he wants to stay. He’s happy to continue here,” Ausilio stated during an interview with Sky. This declaration comes amidst ongoing discussions about Dumfries’ future at Inter Milan, with his contract nearing its final year.
Contract Negotiations to Commence
Ausilio also mentioned that the club plans to initiate formal contract negotiations with Dumfries soon. This move is aimed at securing the Dutch international’s services for the foreseeable future, ensuring stability on the right flank of Inter’s defence.
Potential Proposals and Future Discussions
While Dumfries has expressed his contentment at Inter, Ausilio acknowledged the possibility of receiving new proposals for the player. “In case there are new proposals, we will talk with Denzel, but he’s happy here,” Ausilio told Sky, indicating that while the club is open to discussions, the player’s preference is to stay.
This news follows reports from April 2024, which indicated that Dumfries was already in negotiations for a new contract with Inter. His commitment to the club and the upcoming contract talks suggest a promising continuation of his career at Inter Milan, where he has been a key player since his arrival.
