AS Roma’s manager, José Mourinho, has openly expressed his wish to remain with the club beyond his current contract, which is set to expire in June. Mourinho highlighted the importance of considering Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations before making any definitive plans for the future.
The Portuguese tactician, known for his strategic acumen and past successes with multiple top European clubs, has stated that leaving AS Roma would be a difficult move for him. He emphasized that if a separation were to occur, it would not be by his choice, indicating his commitment to the club.
Mourinho said, “I wanna continue at AS Roma but we need to check on Financial Fair Play limitations to decide the plans.” He added, “For me a separation would be hard… but if it has to happen it will never be by my decision”, underlining the potential influence of FFP on his tenure at the club.
The club and Mourinho will have to navigate the complexities of FFP, which is designed to prevent clubs from excessively spending beyond their means, as they consider the possibility of extending his contract. The outcome of these considerations remains to be seen as the expiration date of his current deal approaches.
