AS Roma’s General Manager, Tiago Pinto, has addressed the current status of Romelu Lukaku’s loan deal, which is set to conclude in June. Pinto highlighted the club’s affection for the striker, suggesting that this sentiment played a significant role in securing Lukaku’s services. He stated, “We already showed our love to Romelu, otherwise he wasn’t going to join us.”
Pinto also called for focus on the present rather than speculation about the future, emphasizing the importance of appreciating Lukaku’s contributions now without stirring up rumours. He drew a parallel to the situation with Paulo Dybala’s release clause in the previous summer, which also generated considerable gossip. Pinto’s comments suggest that discussions about Lukaku’s long-term future with the club will be deferred, with a clear intention to avoid unnecessary speculation.
“It’s too early to decide his future, let’s enjoy Romelu and not create rumours as it was for Dybala’s release clause last summer”, Pinto remarked, indicating that any decisions regarding Lukaku’s potential permanent move or return to his parent club will be made at a later date.
