Atalanta’s president, Percassi, has acknowledged the growing interest in their head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, from other clubs. In a recent statement to Sky, Percassi confirmed that while Gasperini is contracted with Atalanta for another year, the club is willing to consider proposals for his departure.
Club’s Stance on Gasperini’s Future
Percassi expressed a mix of openness and reluctance regarding the potential exit of Gasperini. He stated, “He’s under contract for one more year, but if he presents us some proposal we will consider that… of course, we’d be sad!” This indicates that although Atalanta is not actively looking to part ways with Gasperini, they are prepared to entertain offers that might come their way.
Further elaborating on the club’s position, Percassi mentioned, “We’d be open to discuss, but we don’t think about that”, suggesting that while the club is open to negotiations, it is not their focus or preference to see Gasperini leave. The club’s management appears to be in a reactive position, waiting to see if Gasperini himself brings any potential offers to the table.
