Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán has continued his impressive form, netting his eighth goal in just three Premier League starts. The 20-year-old forward has already scored three goals this season in a total of 103 minutes on the pitch.
High Demand for Durán
According to Aston Villa’s director Monchi, Durán was highly sought after during the summer transfer window. “40 clubs wanted Durán this summer, but no one trusts him more than us and Unai Emery,” Monchi stated.
Previous Transfer Interest
Durán’s potential has been a topic of interest for several months. Notably:
- On 10 September 2024, Monchi revealed the high interest in Durán.
- On 25 July 2024, Aston Villa rejected a bid from West Ham for Durán.
- On 9 July 2024, West Ham submitted a £35 million bid for the forward.
- On 17 June 2024, Chelsea was reportedly nearing a decision on a transfer for Durán.
Durán’s performance continues to justify Aston Villa’s confidence in him, as he cements his place in the team under manager Unai Emery.
