Sérgio Conceição, the manager of FC Porto, recently addressed speculations regarding his future at the club. Conceição, who has been at the helm of Porto for several years, stated that there is nothing to clarify about his current situation. He emphasized his commitment by mentioning that he has renewed his contract with Porto three times over the past seven years.
Contract Extensions and Club Performance
Conceição highlighted the support he has received from the club’s president, who believes that the manager had earned a new contract well before it was offered, due to his impressive performance under challenging circumstances. This includes navigating the team through stringent Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, which impose restrictions on club spending to ensure financial stability.
“The president’s opinion is that I already deserved a new deal long time ago… as we did a good job in a difficult situation with FFP,” Conceição explained, underscoring the recognition of his efforts in steering the club through these limitations successfully.
